It's not a bad thing when done correctly.
I "use" them to look at sites I've found to see if they are worthy of further investigation.
Sometimes I have them look up things to help enhance our movies that no one has
tried yet (YouTube is a very powerful/helpful tool sometimes!) They then learn
the "trick" or feature and teach the rest of the class, or, they find an online tutorial.
So. Work smarter, not harder..."use" a student! It's a win/win situation. ; )
